Event Recap: Bairnsdale Skate Park Trip

Event Recap: Bairnsdale Skate Park Trip

The annual Bairnsdale ramp and camp was on the labour day weekend in March, with a dozen rollerbladers and skaters making the mission in the heat to enjoy a weekend of skating, swimming and sunshine.

With the heat rising to 38 degrees every day, our game plan was to skate the park early and then go find a local swimming spot to cool off. The time pressure made us very productive, with lot's of tricks laced early, especially on the insanely fun custom rail that XX built that goes over the grass between each side of the park.

Once it was too hot to skate, we hiked to the Den of Nargen and to the Mitchell River, where we cooled offer for the afternoon in the rapids, surrounded by the hills and trees of the valley. On the way home, we skated a new found local flat ledge, Sale skatepark and the new Moe skatepark.

It was an awesome weekend!

Check out some short clips from Heather and Ruby too!
